What should I avoid when giving a presentation?
When you give a presentation, note the following:
- Dont be unprepared.
- Dont make jokes or tell stories you havent cleared with the
recipient.
- Dont embarrass a shy employee. For example, dont put him or
her in front of 30 coworkers if the person is uncomfortable in front of groups
of people.
- Dont make verbal commitments regarding future employment. For example,
dont tell an employee you look forward to many more years of contributions.
- Dont use discriminatory remarks. Avoid commenting on age, gender,
race, religion, and so on.
